[sharify] In the past there have been few effective ways to treat the root cause of many diseases and injuries, and conventional clinicians would simply manage patient’s symptoms with medication, and risky, expensive, oftentimes ineffective surgeries. Thanks to regenerative medicine however, all that is changing. This groundbreaking new therapy offers solutions and hope for arthritic patients, physically injured patients and numerous conditions that are otherwise considered beyond repair.

The Revolutionary New Treatment for Arthritis, Sports Injuries and More

In the past there have been few effective ways to treat the root cause of many diseases and injuries, and conventional clinicians would simply manage patient’s symptoms with medication, and risky, expensive, oftentimes ineffective surgeries. Thanks to regenerative medicine however, all that is changing. This groundbreaking new therapy offers solutions and hope for arthritic patients, physically injured patients and numerous conditions that are otherwise considered beyond repair.

Why Orthopedic Surgery is Not the Answer

When medications and anti-inflammatory injections fail, the go-to treatment method for arthritis, musculoskeletal trauma and sports injuries, as well as many spine diseases, degenerative diseases, tumors, and congenital disorders is orthopedic surgery. Although orthopedic surgery often does provide pain relief, it is extremely costly and painful, the recovery time can be upwards of a year, and in some cases (such as with knee replacement surgery), the procedure will need to be repeated every 10-15 years. Orthopedic surgery also comes with a multitude of Risks including:

  • Infections (sometimes life threatening)
  • Swelling, redness, and drainage or bleeding in the surgical area
  • Blood clots
  • Nerve damage
  • Chronic inflammation at the site where foreign materials (wires, pins, prostheses) were inserted into the body
  • Excessive bleeding, infections or severe allergic reactions to the anesthesia
  • Incomplete recovery
  • Increased immobility
  • Persistent or increased pain (leaving the patient worse off than prior to the surgery)
  • Scar formation
  • Increased risk for arthritis
  • Increased risk for re-injury due to bone, cartilage and/or tissue loss

The Revolutionary New Alternative

Regenerative medicine is a new field of medicine that utilizes the body’s innate response to injuries and disease to promote healing from within. Regenerative medicine uses a patient’s own tissues in order to regenerate human cells, tissues or organs to restore normal structure and function. Regenerative cell treatment is a branch of regenerative medicine that can be used to treat progressive condition such as arthritis; as well as sports injuries and other chronic and acute pain conditions. In contrast to orthopedic surgery which involves the removal and/or artificial replacement of damaged cartilage and tissues; regenerative medicine uses the patients own tissue to fully repair damage without invasive surgery. The procedure is quick, relatively painless, safe and highly effective.

The Ideal Regenerative Procedure for Arthritis

When done right, regenerative cell treatment has the power to heal even the most severe forms of arthritis. For the procedure, the physician will ideally start by extracting bone marrow tissues, using a process that is relatively painless and only takes 5-10 minutes to complete. Then liposuction is used to extract some fat from the patient; in a process that is also quick and minimally invasive. Then blood is drawn from the patient, because blood is rich in cell fragments called platelets, and platelets contain hundreds of growth factors which are very important in the healing of injuries. The physician then centrifuges the platelets to create what is called “PRP” or “Platelet Rich Plasma,”and the bone marrow tissue, fat cells and blood are mixed together in the lab and injected back into the patient. The injection sends a signal to the body, telling it to bring healing elements to the injection site, and to regenerate healthy tissue. There is no recovery time and approximately 75 of patients notice a dramatic improvement.

The Benefits of Using Bone Marrow Stem Cells for Arthritis

Regenerative cell therapy can be done from extracting stem cells solely from fat tissue however bone marrow stem cells are superior, and a combination of both is ideal. The reason for this is that bone marrow is filled with very powerful regenerative cells (called hematopoietic stem cells), with a superior ability to repair and differentiate into connective tissue as well as blood vessels. The healing factors in bone marrow are far stronger than those found in fat cells and they are very effective at regrowing healthy tissues. The only disadvantage is that the stem cells are not very abundant in the bone marrow, but by combining them with stem cells found in fat (ideally around the mid-section), you get the ideal healing mix that offers both stem cell abundance and power.
