I am 63 years young and in the best physical, mental and emotional shape of my life. I’m not saying this to brag, I’m saying this to inspire you, because feeling old is not an inevitable part of growing old, and most of the signs and symptoms of aging are in your control. If you follow the steps in this guide patiently and diligently, you will experience a resurgence of energy, health, and vitality; a more youthful appearance; turbocharged sexual vigor, and a vastly reduced risk for degenerative disease.
Think and Love Yourself Young
Age really is just a number and disassociating yourself from that number can produce dramatic antiaging effects. I refer to this as the biology of belief – your mind and your thoughts determine how you look and feel. If you focus on limiting beliefs about age and feed yourself negative messages such as: “I’m too old for ___” or “Feeling tired and gaining weight is a part of aging” or “I hate my wrinkles” or “Sickness is inevitable,” than your body will respond accordingly. Negative thinking also leads to stress, and stress leads to inflammation and free radical damage, both of which impair cells and DNA and accelerate aging.
A positive, can-do attitude, and self-love has the opposite effect on your body, and researchers have found adopting an optimistic attitude is one of the most effective ways to increase lifespan.[i] [ii] Some great tools for cultivating positivity and self-love include yoga, meditation, NLP, self-hypnosis, LFC glasses, gratitude journals, volunteering, setting and working towards goals, and partaking in new and/or challenging activities. Maintaining loving, intimate relationships is also an important facet of health maintenance and longevity. So don’t forget to make your loved ones a priority in your life, and to demonstrate daily your love for your significant other.
Balance Your Hormones
Thanks to the natural decline that occurs, and the countless environmental insults on our endocrine systems (hormone producing glands), hormone imbalances are practically unavoidable in older age. Identifying and reversing hormone imbalances is one of the quickest and easiest ways to look and feel noticeably younger. If you have multiple hormone imbalances and don’t know where to start, I recommend you first address testosterone. Optimizing testosterone levels so that they are in the high-end of the normal range will fire-up your sex drive, increase your energy, enhance muscle mass, help reduce body fat, and promote a happier mood.
Estrogen imbalances are also very harmful and common in older age. Estrogen dominance (a surplus of estrogen) is an extremely prevalent condition in both genders and it accelerates aging and increases the risk for hormone-sensitive cancers. Estrogen dominance also produces a myriad of unpleasant symptoms including excess belly fat, fatigue, moodiness, male breast growth, bloating, headaches, impotence, and a loss of sex drive. An estrogen deficiency can be equally problematic, and it is common in menopausal and post-menopausal women. An estrogen deficiency can make a woman feel less feminine, reduce lubrication, make sex painful, and cause emotional symptoms such as depression and irritability.[iii] Other hormones that play a key role in the signs and symptoms of aging include: human growth hormone (HGH), DHEA, DHT, cortisol, insulin, melatonin, and progesterone.
To identify hormone imbalances, purchase a hormone testing kit and then work with a functional medicine practitioner to reverse them. Follow an Antiaging Diet and Exercise Regime
One of the best things you can do in the fight against aging is to consume a wholefoods, plant-based diet that is high in fiber, fresh fruits and vegetables, herbs and spices. This type of diet provides your body with all the nutrients and antioxidants it needs to fight inflammation and oxidative stress – which are two leading causes of aging and chronic disease. Equally as important as what you do eat, is what you don’t eat, and sadly, most Americans are eating themselves to death. If you are serious about reversing aging, I recommend you eliminate (or vastly reduce) the following five food categories from your diet: sugar in all its forms; refined carbohydrates; artificial sweeteners, preservatives, and flavorings; vegetable oils; and dairy.
Consuming five small meals a day instead of three large ones, is also highly recommended because it will help stabilize your blood sugar, provide you with extra energy for workouts, and reduce the inclination to overeat or make poor food choices. You also need to move your body every single day, and should include a blend of cardiovascular exercises, strength training, and stretching. For added antiaging benefits consider including altitude conditioning, neuromuscular stimulators (they’re especially helpful if you have injuries or chronic pain conditions); high intensity interval training (HIIT), and/or oxygen therapy in your exercise regime.
Support Stem Cell Health
Stem cells are cells that have a unique ability to divide without limit and transform themselves into many different types of cells.[iv] Stem cells act as an internal repair system — whenever a tissue or organ needs replenishing, stem cells travel to and repair the tissue or organ that needs assistance.[v] If you want to slow down the aging process and reverse some of the damage that has already occurred, then it’s imperative that you enhance the health and production of your stem cells. Stem cell therapy offers incredible rejuvenation benefits and can shave decades off how you look and feel. However, many stem cell therapies are illegal in the USA, they are extremely costly, and they can be dangerous if you don’t choose your clinic and physician wisely.
Fortunately, you can boost stem cell health naturally by following the diet and exercise recommendations above, avoiding cigarettes, limiting stress, optimizing sleep, and making sure you get enough vitamin D, either through supplementation or 15 minutes of daily sunlight exposure. For a more dramatic effect, take Stem Cell Strong, which contains resveratrol, mushroom complex, beta-glucans, algae, and over 20 additional stem cell supporting nutrients.
*If you would like to receive the pronounced benefits of stem cell therapy, the Bahama’s is a great place to go because there are several safe and advanced, government regulated facilities there[vi]
Have More Sex
Sex helps to slow the inward and outward signs of aging by boosting anti-aging hormones. It also helps to reduce the risk for nearly every deadly chronic disease, and it’s scientifically proven to increase longevity. Sadly, sexual desire and frequency tends to decline with old age. One of the reasons for this is the natural decline of testosterone and other hormone imbalances that occur in aging adults. Ironically, one of the best ways to optimize the hormones responsible for sexual desire, arousal, and performance, is to have more sex.
Sex stimulates the release of oxytocin, which helps reduce stress, promote calm and wellbeing, and makes you feel more connected and loving with your partner.[vii] It also releases serotonin, which helps fight depression; and phenyl ethylamine, which activates the brain’s pleasure center.[viii] And it releases beta-endorphins and other natural painkilling chemicals in the brain that help to reduce both chronic and acute pain.
If all that weren’t enough, orgasms increase DHEA, and DHEA helps to ward off chronic illness and enhance physical performance.[ix] It also helps boost immunity and cognitive capabilities, supports bone health, promotes healthy skin, fights sexual dysfunction, repairs damaged tissue, and may help treat depression.[x] For a comprehensive guide for restoring and maximizing libido, reversing sexual dysfunction, and turbocharging your sex-life get a copy of the New Guide to Maximum Pleasure for Men or the New Guide to Sensual Bliss for Women.
