This Memorial Day, I found myself reflecting deeply on freedom, family, health, and purpose.

Not just freedom as a country, but freedom in the body. Freedom from chronic disease. Freedom from fatigue, confusion, pain, excess weight, and the belief that aging means slowly giving up the life you love.

You have been told many things about weight loss, aging, energy, hormones, and disease. You have been told that losing weight is simply about eating less and exercising more. You have been told that feeling tired, gaining fat, losing strength, and watching your mind become less clear are just normal parts of getting older.

That is only part of the story.

A Memorial Day Reflection

My father, Nick R. Delgado, served during World War II aboard a submarine protecting the California coast after Pearl Harbor. Later in life, he faced advanced dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Yet through lifestyle changes, bioidentical hormone support, whole-food nutrition, exercise, peptides, and relentless determination, he regained quality of life well into his 80s.

That experience changed me forever. It reminded me that the human body is far more resilient than most people are told.

And yes, sometimes the “miracle” begins with finally putting down the donuts and walking past the drive-thru without negotiating with yourself for “just one cheat meal.”

  • Taking responsibility instead of blaming others.
  • Changing the story you tell yourself about what is possible.
