4 Simple Steps to Prevent Disease and Enhance Longevity

Want to know the secret to living a long, healthy life? It’s a lot less complicated than you probably think, and it doesn’t involve any secret potions or expensive procedures. The following 4 simple steps will not only make you look and feel better than ever, they will actually alter your health at a cellular level, modulating how your genes express themselves. More specifically, they will help to switch-on good genes associated with health and longevity, and to switch-off bad, disease-causing genes.

Step #1: Exercise

Make sure to exercise regularly and aim for approximately 60 minutes a day (if your job or hobbies include hard physical labor, that counts towards your time). Include a balanced blend of cardio, strength training, and stretching exercises. Interval training is great for cardiovascular health and for weight loss. Jumping on a trampoline is also helpful because it helps to stimulate lymphatic flow which is important for optimum immunity and detoxification. Finally, yoga is highly beneficial, not only does it build strength and flexibility, it also helps to balance the mind and relieve stress.

Step #2: Avoid Environmental Toxins

We live in a highly toxic world, and most humans have between 400-800 chemicals stored in their bodies. These chemicals increase the risk for hormone imbalances, nutrient deficiencies, chronic fatigue, neurological disorders, cancer and a plethora of other chronic diseases. Unfortunately, it is impossible to completely avoid toxins, but you can reduce your exposure by drinking filtered water; avoiding herbicides, pesticides and foods packaged in plastic; checking for and treating any mold or radon issues in your home; and using organic cosmetic and skincare products.

Step #3: Control Stress

Stress increases inflammation, and the two together accelerate aging and increase the risk for most, if not all chronic diseases. The first step for reducing stress is ensuring you get enough high quality sleep by sleeping in a cool, silent, dark, electronic-free room, and going to bed and waking at the same time each day. Also, try engaging in either breathing exercises, meditation or yoga daily to help lower cortisol and stress levels. Finally, learn to communicate in a healthy way (as opposed to bottling emotions or blowing-up), and make loving connections and human touch a priority in your daily life.

Step #4: Diet

Last but certainly not least, eat a plant-based, wholefoods diet; with little-to-no animal products, processed foods and oils. Consume at least 12 servings of vegetables daily, and be sure to incorporate a wide variety of vegetables (especially cruciferous veggies and leafy greens). Consume a moderate amount of fruits and presoaked beans and legumes; and a small number of nuts, seeds, avocadoes and olives for their healthy fat content. Finally, be sure to drink at least 8 cups of purified water daily to help promote elimination and flush toxins out of your body.

Bonus Step: Supplement With Slim Blend Pro

If you’re an athlete, you are trying to lose weight, or you notice that you thrive on a high protein diet, then supplement with a protein powder. Be sure to avoid whey protein however, because it is derived from dairy, it is highly allergenic and inflammatory, and many people do not tolerate it well. Pea protein also is not ideal, as it causes digestive upset for many. In fact, most protein products on the market are substandard; many are loaded with unhealthy additives, as well as artificial sweeteners and/or sugar; and they use cheap protein sources that are not easily digested. Slim Blend Protein on the other hand, is gluten, soy, dairy and sugar-free; and it is sweetened with stevia, which is an all-natural herb that helps to lower blood sugar levels. It’s also designed as a complete meal replacement containing 30 whole organic plant-based foods with fiber, probiotics and essential vitamins and minerals. It’s well tolerated, enhances energy, promotes gentle detoxification and weight loss, and the protein and nutrients are easily absorbed.
